A Culinary Journey Across Time and Culture: Dining in a 319-Year-Old Temple and at Bale Sutra 1706

MANGUPURA, balitourismnow.com – Enjoy a dining experience like no other in the world—Bale Sutra 1706, the only restaurant housed within an original temple from the Kangxi period in 1706.

This rare historical treasure, now located in the heart of Hotel Tugu Bali in Canggu, offers guests the opportunity to dine within a 319-year-old living piece of history, where ancient art and culinary mastery meet.

Once nearly destroyed by demolition in Java, the temple was rescued by Anhar Setjadibrata, founder and designer of Tugu Hotels & Restaurants.

With great dedication, the temple was relocated and completely reconstructed in Bali—the first island in Indonesia where it landed centuries ago, brought by Chinese immigrants.
