LEGIAN, balitourismnow.com – Legian’s beachfront hospitality scene has welcomed a new addition with the opening of SONO Belle Bali Legian, a nature-led lifestyle resort that officially opened on September 1, 2026.
Located between Legian Beach and the area’s shopping and entertainment district, the 117-room resort marks the first SONO Belle property in Indonesia. The resort occupies the site formerly known as Away Bali Legian Camakila, which had been part of Legian’s beachfront hospitality landscape since 2019.
The property joined the SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia portfolio in October last year before undergoing a comprehensive transformation. The rebranding forms part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its portfolio of purpose-built brands while expanding across Southeast Asia.
“The introduction of SONO Belle reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more unified brand portfolio. It is a key step in the presence of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia as we continue to elevate the guest experience across our destinations,” said Jihong An, Senior Vice President of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia.
Area Vice President Indonesia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, Evan Burns, said the transformation marks a new chapter for the company’s presence in Indonesia, with Legian chosen as the ideal destination for the brand’s debut.
“SONO Belle Bali Legian represents the next chapter for our Indonesia portfolio, and there is no better place to launch it than Legian. This property has been part of the beachfront community for years, and SONO Belle transforms it into a refined lifestyle destination inspired by Bali’s natural beauty. Through refreshed interiors, warm natural textures, and thoughtfully curated guest experiences, SONO Belle Bali Legian reflects our vision of contemporary hospitality with a genuine sense of place,” said Evan Burns, Area Vice President Indonesia, SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia.
Nature-Inspired Lifestyle in Bali
SONO Belle is a nature-led lifestyle brand within the SONO portfolio, combining contemporary design with a strong connection to each destination. The brand currently operates nine properties across South Korea and Vietnam.
At SONO Belle Bali Legian, the concept draws inspiration from Bali’s coastal character, incorporating natural textures, contemporary interiors and relaxed experiences that reflect the island’s laid-back lifestyle.
A key addition is Chef’s Table, a new all-day Western dining restaurant located beside the pool. Designed for casual lunches and relaxed dinners, the restaurant focuses on quality ingredients, approachable flavours and thoughtful presentation in a laid-back setting.
The resort has also refreshed its wellness offering with a redesigned spa experience focused on relaxation and recovery. Treatments range from massages to manicures and pedicures, providing guests with opportunities to unwind during their stay.
Local Partnerships Add a Bali Touch
The resort’s new guest experience is further shaped through partnerships with local Indonesian brands.
Sensatia Botanicals has created a signature SONO Belle scent, featured across selected guest touchpoints throughout the resort. The collaboration uses natural, locally rooted ingredients to create a distinctive sense of place.
Meanwhile, guests can enjoy complimentary poolside coffee from Tanamera Coffee, featuring Indonesian specialty beans and adding a casual lifestyle element to the resort’s pool experience.
Families are also catered to through The Playroom, the resort’s revamped kids’ club. The nature-inspired space provides children with a safe and comfortable environment to play, create and explore.
With its combination of beachfront location, contemporary design, wellness, dining, family facilities and local brand collaborations, SONO Belle Bali Legian aims to offer a more experiential approach to staying in Legian, while maintaining a strong connection to Bali’s natural character and relaxed coastal lifestyle.
