Sanur Resort Watujimbar has obtained a Disaster Preparedness Certificate for the Tourism Business World, known as Si Kencana Duta Bali, which is part of a free ongoing program by the Badan Penganggulangan Bencana Daerah Bali (BPBD).
With this certificate, Sanur Resort Watujimbar is recognized as a hotel with good disaster preparedness, including the physical condition of the building, knowledge about disasters, and readiness for security mitigation.
The Disaster Preparedness Certificate was presented directly to Sanur Resort Watujimbar by Drs. Dewa Made Indra, M.Si, the Regional Secretary of Bali Province, accompanied by Dr. Drs. I Made Rentin, Ap., M.Si, the Head of the Bali Provincial BPBD.
The ceremony took place at the Bali Governor’s Office on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Sanur Resort Watujimbar’s General Manager, Ida Bagus Gde Cendra Setiawan, explained, “This certification is not just a formality on paper but our obligation to improve our disaster preparedness.”
With validity until September 2027, it is expected that all hotels will persue the Disaster Preparedness certification as a standard for resilience in the business sector against potential disasters that may occur in Bali.
“Through this Disaster Preparedness Certification, we ensure that hotel management has been conducted based on the recognition of disaster risks and how to mitigate them, thereby increasing the sense of security for guests who stay and engage in activities at the hotel,” added Ida Bagus Gde Cendra Setiawan.
