KARANGASEM, balitourismnow.com – To celebrate its 7th anniversary with the theme “Just Say Yes,” Wapa di Ume Sidemen is implementing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through a Home Renovation Program.
“This Home Renovation Program aims to help underprivileged residents in the Sidemen area obtain decent and comfortable housing,” said Wapa di Ume Sidemen President Director, Mr. Gede Paskara Karilo, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
According to Karilo, this activity demonstrates Wapa di Ume Sidemen’s ongoing commitment to making a positive contribution to the surrounding community.
This Home Renovation Program is the resort’s first initiative, reflecting its sincere concern and gratitude to the local community, which has been an integral part of its journey and success over the past seven years.
“Celebrating our 7th anniversary is not only a moment to reflect on our achievements, but also an opportunity to share and give back to the community around us,” Karilo emphasized.
The renovation process was carried out collaboratively between the internal Wapa di Ume Sidemen team and local residents, reflecting the spirit of mutual cooperation that is a core value in the program’s implementation.
As part of this CSR initiative, Wapa di Ume Sidemen selected Ibu Jati, a Sidemen resident, as the beneficiary.
“Through the House Renovation Program, we hope to help create a more livable environment and support the well-being of the Sidemen community,” he continued.
Ibu Jati, who earns a living selling canang (traditional Balinese offerings) at the local market and lives with her child, now has a new, safer and more comfortable home.
The renovation took approximately 1.5 months, with a total cost exceeding IDR 50 million, not including additional material donations from guests, staff, and the Wapa di Ume Sidemen team.
As an expression of gratitude, a “Melaspas Alit” ceremony was held to bless and inaugurate Ibu Jati’s newly renovated home.
Through this initiative, Wapa di Ume Sidemen reaffirms its commitment to being a resort that not only focuses on providing exceptional hospitality experiences for its guests but also plays an active role in supporting social development and environmental sustainability in the Sidemen community.
