DENPASAR, balitourismnow.com – The Consulate General of India in Bali successfully held the Viksit Bharat Run 2026 on 13 August 2026 at Lapangan Puputan Badung, I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung, Denpasar, as part of the celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day.
The community run attracted an enthusiastic response, with more than 320 people registering, including members of the Indian community, friends of India, and local residents. The event offered a fun way for people to come together, stay active, and celebrate the spirit of India.
From early morning, participants began arriving at the venue, picking up their race bibs and meeting fellow runners. The atmosphere quickly became lively as the excitement built up ahead of the run.
Speaking to the participants, Consul General of India in Bali, Dr. Shashank Vikram, spoke about the vision of Viksit Bharat and the importance of working together to build a healthier, stronger, and more developed society. He also thanked the community and everyone involved for their enthusiastic support.
The run was officially flagged off amid cheers and excitement. Participants then made their way along the route, carrying with them the spirit of unity, determination, and togetherness behind the Viksit Bharat vision.
After the run, participants received certificates and goodie bags, followed by refreshments and a chance to relax and connect with one another. Prizes were also presented to recognise the enthusiasm and spirited participation of the runners.
The Viksit Bharat Run 2026 was part of the wider celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence. Beyond promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, the event also highlighted the strong friendship and people-to-people ties between India and Indonesia.
Bringing together the Indian community, local residents, and friends of India in Bali, the event was a simple yet meaningful celebration of health, friendship, unity, and shared progress.
