DENPASAR, balitourismnow.com – Caring for and being responsible for the environment is a shared responsibility. As a commitment, Mayapada Hospitality Holding Group, owner of the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort and Holiday Inn Bali Sanur, released baby turtles on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
“To strengthen our commitment to environmental responsibility, we are carrying out a social action through the Turtle Release Program on the beach in front of this resort,” said Gordon Coutts, Owner Representative of Mayapada Hospitality Holding Group, during the environmental awareness event.
Early Sunday morning, 72 baby turtles were found hatching from their nests on the sandy beach in front of the resort. To ensure their safety, the baby turtles were collected and protected from potential predators, both animal and human.

Because sea turtles are a protected species under Indonesian law, the resort immediately took action to protect them before releasing them into their natural marine habitat.
With permission granted by Sindu Dwarawati Turtle Conservation – Sanur, InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort and Holiday Inn Bali Sanur then conducted the turtle release on Semawang Beach, directly in front of InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort.
“We are honored to be part of this extraordinary moment in nature,” said Gordon Coutts with a smile.
Guests were invited to join in this meaningful event, offering them the opportunity to actively contribute to the long-term survival of this endangered species.
“This turtle release program not only reflects our commitment to sustainability and biodiversity conservation, but also provides a unique and memorable experience for our guests,” said Gordon Coutts.
Protecting these baby turtles and helping them begin their journey to the sea is a small but impactful step in preserving our planet’s natural heritage. [cia]
