‘Arabian Nights – The Musical’: Adaptation of the Broadway Musical Aladdin

MANGUPURA, balitourismnow.com – Anyone who witnessed Arabian Nights The Musical, which took place at Giri Nata Mandala, Badung Government Center (Puspem) on Sunday, December 7, 2025, was undoubtedly captivated.

Despite being presented by young performers, this theatrical performance was a truly high-level art form.

The body language, such as movement, gestures, and physical expressions, blended beautifully with the tempo and dynamics, emotions, imagination, and sensitivity of each actor, effectively bringing the roles to life and conveying the story to the audience.

That was the presentation from Hi Bali Production and Pelangi Dance Academy & Studio, which presented Arabian Nights – The Musical, an original Broadway-style stage adaptation inspired by the timeless tale of Aladdin. The one-night show was truly enchanting.

This stunning Broadway-style musical adaptation is inspired by Disney’s beloved animated classic, Aladdin, reimagined for the stage with breathtaking spectacle, powerful storytelling, and unforgettable music.

It combines various dance styles, including Hip Hop, Ballet, Breakdancing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Jazz.

Set in the vibrant city of Agrabah, the show follows Aladdin, a charming and intelligent dreamer whose life changes forever when he discovers a magical Genie inside a mysterious lamp.

With his newfound wish, Aladdin embarks on a journey to win the heart of Princess Jasmine and outsmart the evil Jafar, while discovering the true meaning of friendship, freedom, and integrity.

Featuring timeless songs like “A Whole New World,” “Friend Like Me,” and “Prince Ali,” along with new compositions written specifically for the stage, Arabian Nights brings the charm of the desert kingdom to life with lavish sets, stunning choreography, and spectacular special effects—including the famous flying carpet scene that left audiences spellbound.

“The cast consists of talented students from Pelangi Dance Academy & Studio ranging in age from 2.5 years old to adults, each bringing their own unique energy to the stage,” said Dewi.

This second performance of Arabian Nights the Musical is a meticulously prepared artistic endeavor by Hi Bali Production, a performing arts academy that brings innovative and passionate artists together.

“We inspire, show, and transport audiences to spectacular performing arts shows and programs,” said Dewi.
