SANUR, balitourismnow.com – Prama Sanur Beach Bali is adding a new dimension to Sanur’s growing sport tourism offering with the introduction of an international-standard lawn bowls facility.
The resort recently hosted the Belibis Bali Lawn Bowls event, attracting around 50 players from Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore and other countries. The event highlighted the potential of lawn bowls to bring together international sporting communities while creating new opportunities for sports-related travel in Bali.
Located within the resort, the facility features a 30-by-30-metre synthetic grass lawn sourced from Australia. Since its establishment, it has attracted players and lawn bowls enthusiasts from various parts of Bali, including Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua and Ubud.
According to Prama Sanur Beach Bali General Manager I Gusti Bagus Surya, the facility could become an additional attraction for both international and domestic visitors, particularly travellers from Australia, where lawn bowls has a long-established following.
“Through this facility, we hope to introduce lawn bowls to more people while creating a new experience for visitors and supporting the growth of sport tourism in Sanur,” Bagus said on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The resort is also preparing for a series of upcoming competitions, with further lawn bowls tournaments scheduled for November and February, followed by a larger tournament in April.
The events are expected to attract players and visitors to Sanur and could generate additional demand for accommodation, dining and other tourism services in the area.
With the growing Belibis Bali Lawn Bowls community and a calendar of upcoming competitions, Prama Sanur Beach Bali aims to further integrate lawn bowls into Sanur’s evolving tourism offering, bringing together sport, community and hospitality.
The initiative also reflects the broader potential of sport tourism to create new reasons for travellers to visit a destination while encouraging longer stays and engagement with local tourism businesses.
