PANGKUNG TIBAH, balitourismnow.com – A total of 66 riders took part in Swank Rally 2026, organized by Deus Ex Machina at Ciputra Beach Resort in Pangkung Tibah Village, Kediri District, Tabanan, Bali, on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The off-road motorcycle racing event, part of Slidetober Fest 2026, featured two classes: Beginner and Expert. A total of 45 riders competed in the Beginner class, while another 21 took part in the Expert class.
Notably, the participants were predominantly Indonesian riders, alongside competitors from overseas, including Australia. Several Deus Ex Machina riders and builders from Deus Ex Machina Australia also attended the event.
Jojo, Marketing Manager of Deus Ex Machina Indonesia, said the decision to host this year’s event at Ciputra Beach Resort offered a different setting compared with the previous venue in the Pasut area of Tabanan.
“This year, we deliberately chose Ciputra Beach Resort as the location for Swank Rally because it offers a different character. The event was previously held in the Pasut area of Tabanan before being moved to Pangkung Tibah,” Jojo said on the sidelines of the event.
According to Jojo, the venue’s proximity to the beach was one of the key considerations in selecting the location. The coastal setting was considered well suited to the Swank Rally concept, which combines motorcycle racing with community activities.
“Deus has always been closely associated with the beach, so we looked for a location very close to the shoreline. With Swank Rally, the course also runs along the beach,” he said.
Swank Rally featured a winding course across open terrain, challenging riders’ skills and balance. Each participant was given two opportunities to record a time, with the fastest time determining the result.
Motorcycle engine capacity was limited to a maximum of 400cc. Expert-class participants were permitted to use both two-stroke and four-stroke motorcycles, including modified bikes.
Jojo said Swank Rally was designed to offer a more relaxed atmosphere than conventional racing competitions while retaining its competitive element.
“Swank Rally is designed to have a more relaxed atmosphere without losing its competitive element. This makes it different from racing competitions that are typically associated with intense competition,” he said.
Swank Rally served as the final event of Slidetober Fest 2026, a three-day festival held from October 23 to 25. Organized annually by Deus Ex Machina every October, the festival features a range of sports and automotive activities.
The program began with a surfing competition on the first day, followed by the Dress Up Drag Race on the second day, before concluding with Swank Rally on the third day.
The festival also forms part of the celebrations for the birthday of Deus Ex Machina’s founder, which falls in October.
Silvanus Prima, Project Coordinator at Ciputra Beach Resort, welcomed the staging of Swank Rally at the development. He said community-based activities aligned with Ciputra Beach Resort’s vision of building a sustainable beachfront community.
According to Silvanus, events such as Swank Rally can help showcase Pangkung Tibah’s potential as a venue for various activities while supporting the area’s development.
“This event can support the development of the Pangkung Tibah area while introducing its potential as a venue for a wide range of activities,” he said.
Silvanus expressed hope that the collaboration with Deus Ex Machina would continue through similar events in the future.
Beyond providing a platform for competition and community gatherings, such activities are also expected to increase the visibility of Ciputra Beach Resort as a coastal development in Tabanan.
“We hope Deus Ex Machina can make this an ongoing event in the area. It would also provide greater exposure for us as the developer of this coastal development,” he said. [buda]
