Jan Kroeckel Leads Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali into a Dynamic New Chapter

MANGUPURA, balitourismnow.com – Newly appointed General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, Jan Kroeckel, brings a refreshing hands-on leadership style and a deep appreciation for both people and place.

Sharing his first impressions of the resort, Jan highlighted the warmth and hospitality of the team, affectionately known as Heartists, as a defining feature of his welcome.

“What captured me immediately is the friendliness across all departments and how warmly I was welcomed into the Mövenpick family,” said Jan Kroeckel happily.

His excitement lies in enhancing the guest experience while developing new spaces like an outdoor garden and events venue to further enrich the resort’s offerings.

With over a decade of experience working in Indonesia’s hospitality scene, Jan’s approach is grounded in presence and connection.

He describes himself as a “hands-on” leader who prefers being on the floor rather than behind a desk.

“I enjoy spending time with our guests and our team, it helps me understand what’s working and where we can do better,” he added.

That approachable style is something he’s bringing to Jimbaran, aiming to blend Swiss hospitality with the island’s signature warmth.

In his early days at the resort, Jan’s priority has been getting to know the team and understanding how best to support them. He’s inspired by the strong sense of pride the staff already have in what they do.

“Our people genuinely care about our guests and about doing their jobs well,” he noted.

For him, success starts with creating a supportive and inclusive workplace where everyone feels heard and valued.

To keep the resort ahead in Bali’s ever-evolving travel market, Jan is focused on innovation and sustainability.

One major project in the pipeline is transforming an unused garden into a vibrant events space—perfect for anything from yoga and volleyball to dreamy evening weddings.

Sustainability is another area close to his heart. Already Green Globe certified, the resort is expanding its use of solar power and introducing new green initiatives like a waste recycling center, a chef’s herb garden, and composting.

A big part of the resort’s evolution is also happening in its dining scene. Adriana Cocina & Bar, the resort’s lively Mexican rooftop bar, is quickly making waves.

“Jimbaran isn’t known for nightlife, but Adriana is changing that,” he said with a smile.

Open until 2 a.m., it’s not only a hit with in-house guests but is also drawing attention from locals and travelers alike.

As Jan continues settling into his role, he remains committed to strengthening ties with the surrounding community, many of whom already work at the resort, and ensuring that Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali continues to be a place of connection, care, and celebration. [ani]
