Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud Marks 8th Anniversary with Sustainability Initiative

GIANYAR, balitourismnow.com — Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud marked its eighth anniversary with a sustainability initiative that combined wildlife conservation and environmental awareness through “Palemahan: Plogging & Bird Release”, Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The activity brought together the resort’s owner, the CEO and founders of Dijiwa Sanctuaries, the General Manager and team members.

Held in the resort’s surrounding area, the initiative reflected Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s commitment to preserving the natural environment that has long been part of its identity.

The program was inspired by Palemahan, one of the three principles of Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of maintaining harmony between people, nature and the spiritual world.

Through the anniversary activity, the resort sought to put the philosophy into practice through simple but meaningful environmental actions.

Eight Birds Released into Nature

The celebration began with the release of eight birds representing the resort’s eight-year journey. The birds, from different species, were released into their natural habitat as a symbol of freedom, renewal and the importance of protecting Bali’s biodiversity.

Joined by the entire group, the bird release also highlighted the need to preserve natural ecosystems and provide space for local wildlife to thrive in its native environment.

The activity was followed by a plogging session, combining walking with collecting plastic waste and other litter from roads and areas surrounding the resort.

Participants were divided into several groups and worked together to collect waste. A friendly competition was also introduced, with a special prize awarded to the group that collected the most rubbish.

Beyond the competition, the activity encouraged participants to recognize that environmental responsibility can start with simple everyday actions. The initiative also raised awareness of waste management and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings.

Celebrating with Purpose

The Palemahan initiative formed part of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s wider eighth-anniversary celebration, giving the milestone a strong sustainability focus.

For the resort, the anniversary was not only a moment to celebrate its journey but also an opportunity to reaffirm its responsibility toward the local environment and community.

Sustainability remains part of its ongoing efforts to protect nature, reduce environmental impact and contribute positively to its surroundings.

Through “Palemahan: Plogging & Bird Release,” Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud hopes to encourage its team members and guests to view environmental care as a shared responsibility.

Rooted in the values of Tri Hita Karana, the initiative reinforces the resort’s commitment to responsible hospitality and its philosophy of being “Inspired by Nature, Enriched by Meaningful Moments.” [tia]
