His name is Chef Ashley Garvey, an Australian-born chef whose journey has taken him from a mere dishwasher in Melbourne to managing Michelin-starred kitchens across continents.

Chef Ashley is anything but ordinary. He left school at 15 and found his calling amidst the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. By 16, he was running his own restaurant.

After honing his skills at the William Angliss Institute in Melbourne, he trained under legendary Italian chef Riccardo Momesso, a mentorship forged through wild game hunting, long nights, and a shared love of food.

From there, his knife took him across Australia, through Michelin-starred Turners in the UK, and finally to Bali, where he made his name with innovative dishes at Mozaic Beach Club, Starfish Bloo at W Bali, and as Executive Chef at Shishi Izakaya Lounge for five years.

Now, he’s returning to tradition, returning to his Mediterranean roots, but this time with the playful twist and bold flavors that are the hallmark of Kuta Social Club.
