A Celebration of Togetherness: A Moment to Connect and Enjoy the Holiday Season at Syrco BASÈ

GIANYAR, balitourismnow.com – This holiday season, Syrco BASÈ invites guests to gather, reconnect, and enjoy the joy of the holidays together.

Themed “A Celebration of Togetherness,” the culinary center, led by two-Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker, presents festive dishes shaped by seasonal intuition, honest flavors, and the island’s natural rhythms—a meaningful way to celebrate the holidays in Bali.

“From December 25–27, Christmas Lunch is served through the BASÈ Pure experience, a warm and simple daytime meal offered at a special price,” says Chef Syrco Bakker.

The menu opens with bright and fresh flavors—like savoy cabbage with koshi green chili and lime, light dishes like hamachi with watermelon and coconut, and the delicate sweet-and-sour combination of oysters with passion fruit and cashew nuts.

The progression continues to comforting yet thoughtful dishes, including bebek betutu paired with crispy taro rösti, a unique twist on the Balinese classic.

And the delicately fragrant Jatiluwih red rice focaccia, enriched with peanut oil, algae butter, and canari nuts—a quiet tribute to Bali’s heritage grains.

As day turns to night, the restaurant shifts to a more expressive rhythm. On December 24–26, as well as December 31 and January 1, Syrco BASÈ will serve its signature dinner menu.

BASÈ Journey — an in-depth exploration of Indonesian flavors, seasonal produce, and culinary storytelling, offered at an affordable price.

The evening will feature dishes like the aromatic depth of sepia with black garlic and kosho lemon, the tantalizing Nasi Ulam, and more refined offerings including Fish Rouleau with scallops and spiny lobster “à la nage.”

The richness of the season continues through dishes like pork cheek with Andaliman pepper and canary beans, while guests seeking something festive can opt for the Wagyu Tokusen MB5 upgrade.

To conclude, desserts bring back familiar flavors with refined simplicity, from the creamy coconut and banana “Kolak” to the comforting combination of milk chocolate, mulberry, and caramel — creating one of Ubud’s most memorable celebratory dinners.

Reflecting on this year’s celebrations, Chef Syrco Bakker shared: “The festive season is a time for people to gather, reflect, and enjoy being together. “With these menus, we want guests to feel welcomed and cared for, while subtly experiencing the stories behind the ingredients and the people we work with,” said Chef Syrco Bakker.

As he repositioned the menu, Chef Syrco Bakker said, “The relationships we’ve built with our community mean a lot to us, but ultimately, it’s about creating dishes that bring joy and connection to the table. That’s what this season is all about.”
