DENPASAR, balitourismnow.com – As Hatten Winery celebrates 32 years of pioneering winemaking in Indonesia, Two Islands Wines proudly introduces Fine Tawny, a rich and elegant Port-Style wine inspired by Australia’s long-standing fortified wine tradition.
Crafted from premium South Australian grapes and matured through a traditional Solera 5 Years system, Fine Tawny becomes the newest addition to the Two Islands Wines collection.
The wine combines the richness and complexity of a classic fortified wine with a distinctly Australian character, offering wine lovers a timeless style designed for slow enjoyment and meaningful moments.
Since 1994, Hatten Winery has played a pioneering role in shaping Indonesia’s wine industry. Through PT Hatten Bali Tbk and its family of brands including Hatten Wines, Two Islands Wines, Two Islands Reserve, and Dragonfly Wines.
The winery has continued to explore new styles and experiences for Indonesian consumers. The launch of Fine Tawny reflects that same spirit of innovation, while paying homage to Australia’s rich winemaking heritage.
For Two Islands Wines, Fine Tawny represents the completion of a vision.
“Two Islands has always been about showcasing the diversity of Australian wine styles,” said James Kalleske, Head Winemaker of PT Hatten Bali Tbk, Bali, on Monday, September 28, 2026.
“We already had sparkling wines, whites, rosés, and reds. One style that was missing was a sweet fortified wine. Fine Tawny completes the collection and pays tribute to Australia’s rich fortified wine heritage with a premium Port-Style wine crafted in the traditional way,” James Kalleske continued.
Made from a blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Tempranillo, and Muscat sourced from premium vineyards across South Australia, Fine Tawny is rich, sweet, and mellow, offering layers of caramel, dried fruits, toasted nuts, and exotic spices, complemented by notes of toffee, orange peel, and subtle cocoa.
Matured slowly for an average of five years, the wine develops remarkable depth while retaining vibrant red berry characters that bring freshness and balance to every sip.
What makes Fine Tawny especially distinctive is its use of house-made brandy, crafted and aged in oak barrels at the Sanur winery.
Combined with Bali’s warm tropical climate, the traditional aging process creates a wine that is smooth, generous, and beautifully integrated, a style that James Kalleske has been passionate about since beginning his winemaking career in Australia’s Barossa Valley.
At 18% ABV, Fine Tawny is designed to be savoured slowly. Whether enjoyed with chocolate desserts, rich cakes, cheese platters, or simply shared among friends after dinner, it is a wine that encourages people to slow down and appreciate the moment.
Unlike many wines, Fine Tawny can continue to be enjoyed for up to four weeks after opening when refrigerated, making it a versatile companion for leisurely evenings and special occasions alike.
“Today’s wine drinkers are looking for sophistication, complexity, heritage, and often a touch of sweetness,” added Kalleske.
“We believe Fine Tawny delivers all of those things. More than anything, we hope people experience a sense of reflection, history, and place in every glass.”
As Hatten Winery celebrates 32 years of winemaking, Two Islands Fine Tawny reflects the pioneering vision, spirit of innovation and lasting legacy that shaped PT Hatten Bali Tbk since 1994.
Australian in style and thoughtfully crafted in Bali, Fine Tawny is a wine that honors tradition, embraces discovery, and invites wine lovers to savour the richness of time in every glass.
Activation and Community Manager PT Hatten Bali Tbk IGA Reditya Candradewi said that Two Islands Fine Tawny is available from June 2026 at selected restaurants, wine retailers, The Cellardoor Bali and The Cellardoor Jakarta. [oko]
