DENPASAR, balitourismnow.com – The fast-paced action of futsal lit up the court as 29 teams took part in the IHKA Bali Futsal Competition 2026, creating an atmosphere full of excitement, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Held at Stadium Futsal Teuku Umar on Thursday, April 17, 2026 the tournament brought together housekeeping professionals from hotels across Badung, Denpasar, and Ubud.
Despite the smaller size of the futsal pitch compared to a football field, the intensity of the matches was anything but small. Each team, consisting of five players, showcased high-tempo play, technical skill, and creativity.
Precise passing and coordinated teamwork enabled players to outmaneuver opponents and deliver powerful shots on goal, often drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.
The competition was organized by the Indonesian Housekeepers Association (IHKA) Bali Regional Board (BPD) Bali, with IHKA BPC Legian acting as the main driving force behind the event.
Chairman of the organizing committee, Bayu Kristana, explained that the tournament was designed as a two-day event, featuring qualifying rounds through to the finals.
“This year’s futsal competition involves selected participants rather than all IHKA members across Bali. The tournament competes for both a rotating trophy and a permanent cup, with total prizes reaching IDR 7 million,” he said.
More than just an annual sporting event, the competition serves as a platform to strengthen camaraderie among housekeeping professionals.
“This is a collaborative initiative to build stronger bonds within the profession, while also providing an opportunity to unwind and refresh amid the demanding nature of hotel service work,” Bayu added, noting his daily role in housekeeping at Padma Hotel Legian.
Participants embraced the event as a chance to relieve work-related stress while fostering a sense of unity and sportsmanship.
Through this competition, we see discipline, teamwork, and the same dedication that these professionals demonstrate daily in serving hotel guests, Bayu emphasized.
The tournament officially opened under the leadership of Gede Cahaya Adiputra, widely known as Cadi, Chairman of IHKA BPD Bali.
The opening ceremony featured a prayer session, the singing of Indonesia’s national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” and the IHKA Bali march, attended by players, association members, invited guests, and the public.
Following the ceremony, the opening match featured a friendly but competitive clash between the Organizing Committee Team and the Vendor Team.
Despite featuring more senior players, both teams impressed with agility and skill. Cadi highlighted the importance of vendor participation, noting their essential role in supporting IHKA Bali’s events.
Cadi also expressed his appreciation to IHKA BPC Legian for consistently organizing the tournament.
Events like this go beyond sports—they strengthen solidarity, foster togetherness, and build a strong spirit of sportsmanship within the housekeeping community and the wider hospitality industry, he stated.
He added that futsal offers valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, communication, and perseverance—qualities highly relevant to daily operations in the hospitality sector.
“We hope all participants compete with integrity, maintain unity, and enjoy every moment of this competition,” Cadi said.
While winning and losing are part of the game, the true value lies in the shared experience and strengthened relationships. IHKA Bali concluded by wishing all teams success and expressing hope that the event would run smoothly and deliver meaningful benefits for all involved. [oma]
